Vale de Centeanes

Situated a few kilometres to the west of Carvoeiro town, Vale de Centeanes is a lovely sheltered sandy beach that is backed up by the imposing sight of the towering cliffs which themselves show signs of erosion, giving for some spectacular rock formations. With the coastline at Carvoeiro being constantly battered by wind and waves coming in off the Atlantic Ocean, the landscape is an ever changing one. Vale de Centeanes becomes a popular beach during the summer months, but out of season it's a place of total peace and quiet with just the sound of the waves washing up onto the beach.
