Praia do Tonel
Situated just a few kilometres from Sagres on the Algarve in Portugal, the beach of Praia do Tonel nestles under the cliffs of Ponta de Sagres (Sagres Point) with views across the bay to Cape St.Vincent. A lovely sandy beach which is also popular with surfers due to the huge waves that can roll in off the Atlantic Ocean.

With no purpose built tourist complexes nearby, Praia do Tonel rarely gets as busy as other beaches like the ones in the central part of the Algarve in Portugal.

A Stormy Day at Praia do Tonel
A stormy winters day at Praia do Tonel with some massive waves rolling in off the Atlantic Ocean. With the cliffs reaching heights of 75 metres it gives you an idea of just how big the waves are, especially when they start breaking over the top of the cliffs in the distance!
