Praia da Cova Redonda
Situated near Porches on the Algarve in Portugal is this wonderful little gem of a beach Praia da Cova Redonda. It is generaly overlooked in favour of the nearby Praia da Senhora da Rocha but if you can find it then Praia da Cova Redonda will not disappoint. It is reached by a long set of gently descending steps that finally lead you out onto the fine golden sands of the beach. The photographs of Praia da Cova Redonda below are of the delightful little cove at the foot of the steps down to the beach which becomes cut off from the main beach at high tide.

The main part of the beach of Praia da Cova Redonda is just around the corner of the edge of the cliffs in this photograph but as you can see it becomes cut off at high tide leaving this delightful and secluded little cove all on its own.

It's hard to believe that not far from this deserted beach is the very busy Praia da Senhora da Rocha which was packed with sunbathers.

It is well worth the walk to get down to the beach at Praia da Cova Redonda, especially if you get lucky like I did and find it completely deserted.
