Carvoeiro

Situated roughly five kilometres south of Lagoa on the Algarve in Portugal is the picturesque town and beach of Carvoeiro. Also known as Praia de Carvoeiro, Carvoeiro is a small town filled with typically Portuguese buildings and nestles in a cove surrounded by the towering cliffs that line this part of the coast on the Algarve. Carvoeiro has seen much development over the years but still retains much of its natural charm and by venturing away from Carvoeiro is the popular beach of Vale de Centeanes, a few kilometres to the east of Carvoeiro.

Despite seeing much development over the years to cater for the tourist industry, Carvoeiro town still has many of the typically Portuguese buildings that make it such a wonderful place.

One of the most delightful things about Carvoeiro is how colourful it is. The brightly coloured fishing boats on the beach and the surrounding buildings add to this.
