Alcantarilha
The picturesque village of Alcantarilha is situated in the municipality of Silves on the Algarve in Portugal. A quiet and charming village, Alcantarilha has a church in its centre and many typically Portuguese style brightly coloured buildings surrounding this. The church in the centre of the village of Alcantarilha is also known for the chapel built onto the side of it which is known as 'Capela dos Ossos' (Chapel of Bones) and contains the macabre sight of the entire interior being lined with the skulls and bones of over 1000 former parishioners.
