Praia da Salema
Praia da Salema is a long beach with the village of Salema directly behind it. Although Salema is somewhat larger than it used to be, it is still a typical Portuguese fishing village and perhaps one of the only truly unspoilt fishing villages on the Algarve. With its narrow cobbled streets that wind past fishermans cottages and the brightly coloured fishing boats lining the long stretch of fine golden sand, Salema is a far cry from the more tourist orientated resorts on the Algarve. Each morning the local fishermen can be seen launching their boats as they set off onto the Atlantic Ocean for the days fishing.
